CTE Stakeholder Meetings

At the inception of the CTE New Teacher Mentoring Program, two CTE stakeholder meetings were held to discuss the needs of beginning CTE teachers and how to best address those needs. At these meetings, TEA introduced the CTE Mentoring program and facilitated small group discussions about support for beginning CTE teachers, challenges the new teachers face, and strategies that can be used to build capacity and promote self-efficacy.
Stakeholders engaged in discussion around a round table.
In order to learn from diverse viewpoints and perspectives, participants included beginning and veteran teachers, business and industry partners, higher education personnel, students, CTE administrators (e.g., Directors of CTE, principals, assistant principals, CTE coordinators), education service center (ESC) CTE education specialists, CTE professional organization representatives, career and technical student organization (CTSO) members, and TEA CTE leadership staff.
The following documents provide a brief summary of the discussions held at the stakeholder meetings, including what was learned, what needed to be investigated further, and what action steps were proposed.
